This is the moment all retro lovers have been waiting for; we are witnessing a big comeback of the best retro fashion trends, and this is the moment I have been waiting for. Pleated skirts and cardigans, iconic garments that you can find in your grandparents’ wardrobe (and I believe they are still wearable because the quality was breathtaking back then).
If you’re like me, you definitely love to wear fashionable but mostly comfortable clothes, and this is where our retro-style strikes. If you want to keep your wardrobe up-to-date for this winter season, you may continue reading this article because we are all going to look FABULOUS!!!
The Ski Look
Don’t worry; you don’t have to go skiing to don your ski look. Grab your puffer jackets, parkas, and coats. We are living this moment to the end. The cold should be the least of your worries because skiwear is made to keep you warm.
Designers are now upgrading the ski look game by creating ‘ski’ type clothes that are meant to be fashionable, you just need to combine it with some accessories, and you’re good to go.
Knitwear
Personally, knitwear has never gone out of style. They are the best, and what I love about knitwear is that you can wear them from summer to winter. Knitwear is very versatile, and they are available from the thinnest to the thickest.
Knitwear is best when it comes to accessories, my friends and I have very different tastes when it comes to fashion, but we all have our share when it comes to knitwear. You just have to see which ones suit you best, and I recommend going for a thick one because it’s for winter, so you have comfort and style, 2-in-1.
Cardigans
Do you want to look like Scarlett Johansson in the movie Black Widow? Ha-ha! Get your vest. You may not know it, but vests were very popular in the 80s and 90s, and this piece is making a comeback. But we’re in 2021, and does that make cardigans an outdated trend? Of course, not…
I love the fashion world because pieces can become trendy again and, of course, outdated, but fashion designers usually take old ideas and edit them to fit the current style.
Pleated skirt
Short, midi, or maxi, the pleated skirt is coming back, and I have waited so long for this moment. Do you remember this yellow pleated skirt in Clueless, with a matching blazer? An iconic piece, isn’t it? I wanted to wear this for so long, but I was afraid of being mocked (yes, I know, not so confident).
But now, I am living my dream while being at the forefront of fashion. We have for every taste, elegant, casual, you name it, or should I say you style it.
Denim on denim
I’m not a big fan of this, but during my little research to give you the upcoming trends for this winter, I discovered that denim on denim is now a thing. This was rock in the 90s, with baggy jeans, so you can now put away the skinny jeans.
But like I said, it’s denim on denim, so don’t just focus on the bottoms; there are now a lot of cardigans, skirts, and jackets to go with your jeans. One advantage of jeans is that you can easily accessorize them and they are very comfortable…
So, in case you didn’t already know, jump in the time machine, and we’re going back to the 90s this winter. Try these fashion trends; they are comfy and in style, of course. Let us know in the comments if any of these above trends suit your fashion taste…
