3 minutes, 24 seconds Read

An organized wardrobe, in which it is easy to find your way around and where each item of clothing creates well-being, is not an impossibility. But it’s not always easy to keep the closet tidy and that’s why an annual cleaning is important for your well-being.

After every fall, it’s time to clear out the closet of summer clothes – but take the opportunity to do a deep clean too! Parting with clothes can be difficult, but it’s a necessary task to get stylish outfits you like faster and not drown in the ever-growing piles of clothes. Here are 12 things you need to get rid of to get a wardrobe that’s easier to get into:

  1. Anything That’s Too Big or Too Small

Clothes you bought to lose or gain weight or clothes that last fit years ago don’t belong in your wardrobe. Love your body and make sure that everything in your closet fits and makes you feel good. If you lose or gain weight, you can buy new clothes that fit your new body type, guaranteed, it’s more fun than sticking to the old clothes.

  1. Discolored Jewelry

Cheap metal jewelry discolors over the years and leaves ugly green imprints on your skin. Throw them away and instead buy a small amount of jewelry that will last for several years.

  1. Tired Party Tops

Tops with several years on them that are no longer your style and never saw the light of day, but were only used when you and your girlfriends were out partying, it’s time to say goodbye.

  1. The Clothes You Received As Gifts

The clothing that you don’t like or use, but you kept it because you received it as a gift and didn’t want to hurt the person’s feelings by telling them what you really think of it. The person in question will probably not remember that you received the item, so leave it with someone who will use it.

  1. Bras You Haven’t Used in Years

If there are 20 bras in the box and only five of them are used, it’s really time to clean up. Try on the bras and throw out the ones that are worn out, have lost their shape or no longer fit well and are comfortable.

  1. Bags That Have Lost Their Shape

Cheaper bags made of faux material can lose their shape over the years and have their metallic details discolored. Clean up your act so you only have bags that you love to use and are appropriate for the occasions you need them for.

  1. Uncomfortable Shoes

Shoes that rub, don’t fit and never get used shouldn’t sit in the back of the closet gathering dust. Someone else can enjoy those beautiful shoes instead, so sell them or donate them.

  1. Souvenirs from Your Ex’s Wardrobe

Anything that belonged to your ex that they don’t want back, you need to clean out. That old sweater may be cozy, but it’s time to move on.

  1. “The Pile” Repair

Clothes that need sewing or can only be dry cleaned, but sit in the closet and never get the care they need. Take care of these clothes and put them back into service or get rid of them.

  1. Faded and Worn Clothing

It’s time to say goodbye to white clothes that are no longer white but yellow, black clothes that aren’t black, sweaters that have grown in size and clothes with crooked seams.

  1. Sad Socks

Lonely socks that haven’t had their pair in a long time, worn out socks that almost have holes in them, and socks you never want to use go straight to the garbage disposal.

  1. Clothes You Don’t Feel Comfortable in

Last but not least, colors you don’t like, styles you don’t like and don’t feel comfortable in, and accessories that are not your style are useless to keep in the closet.

Here you go! With those items out of your closet, you can now make space for new and more durable ones. How about you? When was the last time you’ve decluttered your wardrobe? Let us know in the comments below.
